Bedrooms are probably the most personal spaces of all time. Not only do they offer everything important, but they’re also your #1 haven for binge-TV-watching in bed. They’re also the means in which you execute the most important activity ever: sleep, and the space that holds your most prized possession: your wardrobe(s). Bedrooms are to houses are what breakfast is to life; the most important meal of the day. Yet somehow, they often find themselves messy and/or still resembling the Hello Kitty theme we tried to implement during our childhood.
If you’re like me, you had millions of plans for what your grown-up bedroom would look like when you got your own place – but let’s be serious: your current one is characterized by whatever bedding was clean (and subsequently, there is homework covering every inch of your floor). Needless to say, I’ve put more effort in making my grown-up room look, well, grown up, and I’ve been surprised by how easy it’s been. Here are some simple (and $$$ saving) wall art ideas to make your bedroom exponentially more beautiful with only a small amount of effort.
Floral Walls

Masking tape and flowers are an easy and non-permantent way of dressing up your room in girly sophistication. Try using fake flowers, or ones that have already been dried, and create vertical stripes that follow the flower to the stem.
Macrame Wall Hanging

The best thing about macrame is that it’s really just a fancy word for tying knots, meaning that it’s way easier than it looks to create a wall hanging like the ones above. Of course, you may want to follow a tutorial like this one by A Pair and A Spare.
Framed Typography

I love how these framed words are kept in a monochromatic setting, and different fonts are interchanged. It’s easy to find discount frames at a place like Winners or Walmart (or you could collect vintage frames and give them a coat of black spray paint). Then, simply print out your favourite quotes on wide format paper & assemble!
Geometric Tape Art

Using coloured masking tape (found at most craft stores!), you can make almost anything on your walls. Of course, tape runs in straight lines, so this project lends itself to geometric objects, and the shapes above look easy to create.
Brushstroke Canvas Art

You don’t need art skills to create a cool looking painting for your room – just go for one of those abstract styles where no one can tell if you are age seven or a full grown genius!!! A canvas and one colour of paint is all it takes to make visually appealing artworks like the ones above!
Print Hangers
Source: BoatPeopleBoutique/ScandanavianDeko
If you have a collection of small posters/prints, using skirt hangers is an easy way to display them. Grab hangers, clip onto posters, and put a nail in the wall to hold each hanger. No, don’t ask someone else to do it, please just learn how to hammer in a nail.
Now go forth and dEcOrAtE!
